Nelson Mandela lesson plans
Our Nelson Mandela in Cape Town - Legacy Exhibition at the
Cape Town City Hall, covers the life of Mandela and his close affinity with Cape Town. This includes the time he spent with other struggle veterans on Robben Island, his release on 11 February 1990, and the historic speech he delivered from the balcony of City Hall.
To complement the exhibition, we developed a supportive education programme for primary and secondary school learners who visit the exhibition. Eight lesson plans have been produced, which are aligned to the Life Skills and Social Science (History) learning areas of the national curriculum.
