Councillor Siseko Mbandezi: Mayoral Committee Member for Finance
The Mayoral Committee member leads the Finance department in an oversight capacity. The directorate manages the City’s budget, revenue and expenditure, as well as grant funding, property valuations and procurement.

We aim to serve the residents of Cape Town through good governance, efficiency and zero tolerance of corruption. Public funds must be spent responsibly and accountably to deliver quality services to all our residents.
We will provide assistance to those who need it most, through our comprehensive indigent support and rebate programmes.
We will continue to modernise and adapt our service offering to be responsive to our residents’ current and future needs.
Our focus will be on enhancing the administration’s financial and operational sustainability, and ensuring that we remain resilient in the face of future shocks and stresses.
Biography
Councillor Mbandezi was born on 13 June 1978. He attended the Khanna Secondary School, and obtained a BSc (Honours) from the University of the Western Cape in 2003. He worked as a banker for nine years before moving into politics in 2011.
In addition to being the Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, he also serves as a PR councilllor in Subcouncil 2.
He has served as chairperson of the Finance Portfolio Committee, and member of the Human Settlements Portfolio Committee.
Cllr Mbandezi is an executive member of the NGO Isipho Sezipho, which distributes food parcels to the impoverished communities of Bloekombos and surrounds, and is involved in outreach to the homeless. He is also a member of the Bloekombos Health Forum, the Kraaifontein Community Police Forum, and the Bloekombos Development Forum, which champions development in wards 101 and 6.
