Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for buying goods and services needed by the City to ensure service delivery.
On this website you will find all of the City’s advertisements for goods, services, construction, contractors, consultants as well as advertisements for the sale of goods and property no longer required. These advertisements are grouped into Requests for Quotations (RFQs) where the estimated value is below R200 000, and Tenders where the estimated value is above R200 000 or which comprise contracts of longer than a year.
The City's SCM Department is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the procurement system is fair, equitable, transparent, competitive and cost effective, in accordance with the Constitution of South Africa
- Ensuring a sound, sustainable and accountable supply chain, which supports black economic empowerment and local economic development
- Welcoming small businesses and joint venture partnerships
TENDERS are advertised via the Tenders Portal, which has been updated. The new portal has an improved search function as well as improved navigation and filtering and serves as a platform for future enhancements.
The old site has been disabled. The new home page URL, which we recommend you bookmark, is: http://web1.capetown.gov.za/web1/tenderportal/
You will need to follow a simple registration process on the new portal to experience the enhanced features, and to download tender documents. The registration process for the Procurement portal can be followed here.
In order to collect hard copies of any documents from the City of Cape Town, you will need to be registered on the new Tenders portal. If you have not registered on the site prior to collecting the required documents, the desk clerk will complete the registration on your company’s behalf. However, you should ensure that the person collecting the documents has all the necessary details of the contact person within the company to where any notices to tenderers will be sent, as detailed below:
