Hold a large event in the city<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​​Apply for a permit</h2></span> <p> The Event Permits Office is a one-stop shop that facilitates all the necessary permissions to host your event. The requirements and permitting process for all events are outlined in the <a href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Events%20By-law.pdf" target="_blank"> Events By-law</a><strong> </strong>which can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. We recommend you read carefully through the by-law before you make your application.</p> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p>You will need to submit a full event plan with your application. </p></div></div></span> <p>Once your application is received, it is sent to the various service departments in the City for comments and approvals, and only once all the conditions are met, is an event permit issued. These include both private and municipal service providers. If these are in question at any stage, please be aware that the City may request an event organiser to immediately provide proof of compliance. </p><p> Failure to do so will result in one or more of the following:</p><ul><li>The issue of a notice of non-compliance</li><li>A fine</li><li>Halting or cancelling the event, either prior-to or during the event</li></ul> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p>An event may be cancelled or stopped at any time by the City manager or anyone delegated by the city if public safety is compromised. </p></div></div></span> <span> <span> <h2 class="sectHeading">Greening your event</h2> <p>We ask that all organisers, venue staff and suppliers pay special attention to keeping their event as clean and green as possible.
