Volunteer with the Law Enforcement Auxiliary Service
Volunteer

The Safety and Security Directorate launched its Volunteer Law Enforcement Auxiliary Service (LEAS) in 2013. Unique in South Africa, the programme has recruited a few hundred members to date.

Volunteers are encouraged to join their local neighbourhood watch first, as this demonstrates a passion and commitment towards protecting their community and creating a safer city. We will then recruit members of the neighbourhood watch to volunteer with us. Those interested in volunteering should be able-bodied, demonstrate a commitment to safety, have no criminal record, and have the ability to work a minimum of 16 hours per month.

Contact us

Jason Hamilton, Principle Law Inspector, Law Enforcement and Security Department

Telephone:
021 444 8231

Email:
jason.hamilton@capetown.gov.za
GP0|#6f49a589-68ef-4e2b-a30a-ef3140d2a936;L0|#06f49a589-68ef-4e2b-a30a-ef3140d2a936|Volunteer;GTSet|#a7cfb90d-44ad-4426-98ce-565f79932396;GPP|#7ecc61e7-9305-4d43-8bf7-f7c4dc6a5334Assist the Law Enforcement Department with by-law enforcement and operations.
