Water pipeline maintenance work to take place in the Helderberg area - shutdown expected to cause low pressure

This shutdown is necessary to assist in work which is required on the bulk water pipeline where it crosses the Baden Powell Bridge.Residents are advised to expect low water pressure as a result of this work. The work is estimated to last for 48 hours after which water pressure should be restored.After conducting a shutdown in preparation for this work, the City found that the areas most affected were Penhill and De Wijnlanden. The City will have water tankers roaming these areas and can confirm that there will also be a water tanker stationed at the Total garage in Stratford Street, Eerste River.The City apologises for any inconvenience. Residents are asked to keep between 5 to 10 litres of drinking water for essential use if required but are asked not to store water excessively as any outages are expected to be of short duration.Please also keep taps closed to prevent water damage in the event of water being restored after a supply disruption.End
