Expansion of Atlantis foundries completes further investment in Cape Town<span><p>The Atlantis Foundries expansion project, involving the enlargement of their facility, represents a welcome continued investment into the local Atlantis economy.</p><p>I had the great pleasure of officiating at the opening of the Atlantis Foundries expansion project this afternoon.</p><p>Atlantis Foundries currently has 800 permanent employees. </p> <figure class="subtopic-fullsize-img"> <img class="responsive" src="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Centre/Foundries2.jpg" alt="" style="width:1069px;" /> </figure></span><span><p>Atlantis Foundries produces automotive castings for the commercial vehicle industry and operates a full machining facility.</p><p>In addition to employing 800 people, mainly from the Atlantis area, the contractors hired for the expansion project have been 100% local.
