City calls on Belhar/Pentech BNG Housing project beneficiaries to update their details
The City will deploy an official to assist beneficiaries with updating their personal details at the Belhar Council Chambers, next to the Huguenot Square Public Library at the Corner of Belhar Drive and Alabama Avenue in Belhar.

The official will be on duty at this office for two months, starting from 23 July until the end of September 2018 and will operate between 08:00 - 15:00 on week days.

The main purpose of this initiative is to update beneficiaries’ personal information to enable the City to contact project beneficiaries and provide them with progress updates.

The City will also arrange workshops with beneficiaries in the future to educate them about property ownership. We will advise beneficiaries timeously of these workshops.

Beneficiaries who still need to sign their deeds of sale can attend a beneficiary meeting that will be held on Saturday, 4 August 2018 at 09:00 at the ward councillor’s office located at the Corner of Belhar Drive and Alabama Avenue.

‘Beneficiaries of all City housing projects are allocated in accordance with the City’s Allocation Policy and the housing database to ensure that housing opportunities are provided to qualifying applicants in a fair, transparent and equal manner, and to prevent queue-jumping.

‘However, we often get complaints about housing opportunities that are allocated to people who are not on the housing database or people getting houses without being on the housing database, etc.

‘I want to urge the beneficiaries of this project to make every effort to make use of this opportunity and visit our office to ensure that their details are up to date now already. In this way we can ensure that we minimise and ultimately eliminate any inaccuracies, and that housing delivery happens smoothly,’ said Councillor Brett Herron, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport and Urban Development.

End

2018-08-01T22:00:00ZGP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#481461de-ccd2-4cc9-ad13-85b695810a1c;L0|#0481461de-ccd2-4cc9-ad13-85b695810a1c|information;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#d4ca5107-2ce1-4221-a982-6f70865b4950;L0|#0d4ca5107-2ce1-4221-a982-6f70865b4950|update;GP0|#02d14be4-3d23-41a6-b14a-7c4732a9aa7d;L0|#002d14be4-3d23-41a6-b14a-7c4732a9aa7d|BNG1
