City advises of further pressure management operations across the metro<p>The City’s Water and Sanitation Department continues the roll-out pressure management technology to various parts of the water supply network. Some 62 million litres of water per day are currently being saved through this intervention. We thank residents for their cooperation and regret any inconvenience that necessary pressure management work may cause​.<br><br>The City has been implementing pressure management for more than 10 years now and has prioritised the implementation of pressure management according to the areas which have experienced the highest losses or where high pressure has led to burst pipelines.</p><p>Under drought conditions this programme has been accelerated.</p><p>Work is scheduled to take place in the following areas:</p><ul><li><strong>Kensington:</strong> until 16:00 this afternoon,12 June 2018. The area where the work is taking place is bounded by Acre Road to the north, Bodmin Road to the west, Eighteenth Avenue to the east and Voortrekker Road to the south.</li><li><strong>Bellville South:</strong> from 20:00 to 04:00 this evening, 12 June 2018 in the areas including Stikland Industrial, Groenvallei and Labiance. It is bounded by Stellenberg Road and the N1 to the north, the R300 to the east, Peter Barlow Drive and Willow Road to the west, and the railway Line along Colonel Cresswell Avenue to the south.</li><li><strong>Bloekombos:</strong> on Wednesday, 13 June 2018 from 10:00 to 16:00. This area is bound by Mongondia Road to the north, Lesibane Road to the west, Rhadu Road to the east and Old Paarl Road to the south.</li><li><strong>Jagstershof, Kuils River </strong>area on Wednesday, 13 June 2018 from 10:00 to 16:00. This area is bounded by Langverwacht Road to the north, Foxhound Road to the west, Manhattan Road to the east and Simmons Road to the south.</li><li> <strong>Cape Town CBD, Gardens and Zonnebloem: </strong>on Thursday, 14 June 2018 from 20:00 to 04:00. These areas are bounded by Strand and Hans Strijdom Roads to the north, Buiten Street to the west, Barron Street to the east and Constitution and Wesley Roads to the south.</li><li><strong>Vierlanden, Durmonte, Klein Nederburg, Bergsig and Wellway Park areas in Durbanville</strong> on Thursday, 14 June 2018 from 20:00 to 04:00. These areas are bounded by Botterblom Street to the north, Goedemoed Road to the east, Paul Kruger Street and Ruiterhoogte Avenue to the west and De Villiers Drive to the south.</li></ul><p>Other areas will be informed of supply disruptions in due course.</p><p>Please store only up to 10 litres of water for essential usage if required. However, residents living in the affected areas are urged not to stockpile large volumes of municipal water. This is because if there are any significant service interruptions, they are not expected to be in effect for long periods.</p><p>Please also keep taps closed to prevent water damage in the event of water being restored after a disruption.</p><p>At all times careful consideration will be given to ensure minimal disruption to the water supply in the affected areas. The City regrets any inconvenience caused.
