20 motor licensing, cash offices open thus far, reduced staff <p>​</p><p>‘The City has opened some of its customer offices in a phased manner, since May this year, in accordance with national COVID-19 regulations. We will continue to ensure that all COVID-19 health and safety protocols are put in place and adhered to for the safety of City staff and members of the public as more offices open in the coming weeks. We thank our customers for their patience during this difficult time for us all.</p><p>‘Customers are reminded to only visit cash offices when absolutely necessary so that we continue to curb the spread of COVID-19. Online options and the City’s e-Services remain key and we encourage customers to register to use e-Services if they have not done so already. E-services offers a range of useful options including electronic billing, logging service requests and applying to renew one’s motor vehicle license, among others,’ said the City’s Executive Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Alderman Ian Neilson.</p><p>The national COVID-19 regulations, which require a reduced staff complement, has an impact on operations in that fewer transactions can be done per day. </p><p>All counters will also not be open at the same time to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations of enhanced hygiene and social distancing. Customers are pleased asked to visit offices early in the day or to make use of online services where possible. Check the Operations and Service Notifications document on the City’s website or the City’s Facebook page ahead of time if unsure. hours?</strong></p><p>A: During the week the City's customer offices across the metro operate between 08:00 and 15:30 and some offices are open on Saturdays from 08:00 to 11:30. </p><p>For convenience however, the Table  Bay Mall and the Liberty Promenade Mall customer offices operate from Monday to Friday between 08:30 and16:00 and on weekends (including Sundays) between 09:00 and 12:30. </p><p>Please phone the City's Call Centre on 0860 103 089, ahead of time, to see if a particular office is open. Alternatively visit <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/" target="_blank"> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">www.capetown.gov.za</span></a>. Our offices are thus allowed to perform a limited amount of transactions per day, please visit early in the day. This grace period applies to expired driving license cards, temporary driving licenses, learner's licenses, Professional Driving Permits and vehicle registration and license renewal discs. This was implemented due to the National Lockdown. </p><p> <strong>IMPORTANT! </strong></p><ul><li>Motorists who applied before 26 March 2020 and meet all the requirements, will still receive their discs.
