23SUB7/8/2020: Director Bosman advised that she requested for this matter to be included with the MRA in order for the housing officials to comment on the implementation plan. She suggested that this item be tabled at the Activity Day meeting in order for the officials to provide a funding model and the implementation plan of the backyard closures.

23SUB7/9/2020: Cllr Joan Woodman reported that all urgent matters received for housing was submitted to Mr Terence Bent who responded that there were savings available and enquired whether the funds could be used for the closure of the backyards.
Cllr Elton Jansen enquired whether the matter was discussed with Mr Terence Bent. Cllr Woodman reported that she enquired with Mr le Moor regarding additional urgent matters that needed to be concluded. She expressed concern regarding the residents who continually requested for backyard closures.
Cllr Jansen advised that Cllr Woodman should confirm with Director Alesia Bosman what the possibility was to utilise the savings and requested a meeting be scheduled with Mr Terence Bent to discuss the funding mentioned.
RESOLVED that,
a meeting be scheduled with Mr Terence Bent, the Chairperson, Director Alesia Bosman and the Acting Subcouncil Manager to discuss the funding for the closures of backyards for rental stock mentioned by Cllr Joan Woodman.

Director Bosman stated that she engaged with Ms Siphokazi Madikane September (Manager:Upgrades and Maintenance) who confirmed the R5m proposal for the 2021/22 financial year. She added that the official had advised that the four backyard closures which were recommended by Cllr Woodman and assured implementation during this financial year, by the late Terence Bent, will not be implemented as the funding model would only be considered for the next financial year.
