CHAIRPERSONS REPORT
Good Morning Councillors and colleagues. Firstly, a big thank you to all for attending this meeting during this difficult period that we are facing. Also to the manager and sub council staff who have kept the ship afloat your efforts are not unnoticed, thank you.
While every effort has been made to spend the ward allocations by the end of this month being the financial year end, this was not possible for obvious reasons which the manager will explain during the course of the meeting. Some of the ward allocations were used for humanitarian relief across the sub council.
While many have contracted Covid 19 and succumbed to it is with great sadness that I have to report that we have lost a member of the Hanover Park ward committee Mr Charles Fisher lovingly known as Oudie. With this in mind I urge us all to take every measure to protect ourselves to prevent the loss of lives.
While it could not be business as usual projects and activities were still happening across the Subcouncil.
In Cllr Moses ward the Linglethle hostel is currently being upgraded. Phase 3 of the Cockscomb Park has started and two primary schools are nearing completion.
In Cllr Cassiems ward the transversal mapping took place regarding the Gatesville CBD revamp. Contractors have started on the Orion Rd Park and will be installing a 5 a side soccer pitch
In ward 47 renovations to the cleansing depot will commence soon. The housing project that was put on hold is back on track with the new designs currently being worked on and I look forward to the project starting in th
e new financial year.
In closing I want to remind us all to keep all safety measures in place to avoid possible contamination.
Thank you
