Resolution details

Mr Anthony Chemaly represented  Penzance  Special Ratings Area.
He stated:
  • First audit report, and clean audit as well.
  • Carried surplus funds over to the next financial year.
  • All the plans for Penzance were predominantly around security.
  • Initially   we rolled out quite a few cameras and is contracted to the company, Deep Blue. They have an operation center that houses some of the cameras. The SRA bought and rents some of the cameras and has an agreement in place that, if anything happens to Deep Blue, then the SRA becomes the owners of the cameras.
  • Spent quite a bit of funding on fencing projects.
  • Beautification of the area is ongoing.
  • Installing lights in the area.
  • There has been an improvement in security, as crime has been reduced.
Mr Alistair Pearce represented  Llandudno  Special Ratings Area
He stated:
  • Clean audit report.
  • Tax exemption status remains intact.
  • Contingent liability for long range CCTV cameras is reflected in the financial statements for R950000.00. Due to functionality not being delivered, payment was delayed to a year later. The purchase price was financed by an operational rental.
  • Had a surplus and rolled it over to the 2018/19 projects.
  • The 2018/19 budget was ratified by the members at the AGM.
  1. Water resilience projects: are you sharing it with other areas?
  2. Do residents still engage with private security or do they rely on the SRA’s?
  3. What security service does Llandudno SRA provide?
  Mr  Pearce responded:
  1. Set up a water projects subcommittee and requested assistance from the City. Also engaged the community for their views and how to fund these projects.
  2. ADT and other companies supply additional security to residents.
  3. We have installed a fairly detailed set of cameras and sensors as an early warning system. We also have an armed response unit which operates daily.
UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that Subcouncil 16 notes the contents of the Audited Financial Statements and Annual Reports of the Penzance and Llandudno Special Rating Areas.
