In partnership with the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness, we provide a range of primary healthcare services to all residents through our network of clinics and other healthcare facilities.
Health services
With 61 clinics and 14 Community Day Centres (CDCs) located in communities across the Metro, as well as a number of mobile and satellite clinics, we are focused on delivering healthcare services to those who need it most.
Our services include:
- antenatal and postnatal care of mothers
- mental health services
- providing immunisation and child health services (vaccines);
- offering HIV testing and counselling and providing ART;
- HIV prevention services (PrEP and PEP)
- prevention of Mother to Child Transmissions (PMTCT) of HIV;
- counselling and referral for male medical circumcision;
- testing and treating TB and sexually transmitted infections;
- providing contraception (family planning);
- counselling support and referral for termination of pregnancy;
- termination of pregnancy services (Khayelitsha);
- checking blood pressure and sugar levels, diagnosis and treatment/referral for treatment for related illnesses;
- screening for cancer of the breast and cervix;
- providing health education;
- substance abuse counselling and testing; and
- nutrition services.

men's health
The City works in conjunction with a non-governmental organisation, TB/HIV Care Association, and the Western Cape Health Department to promote safe adult male circumcision as a way to prevent the spread of HIV. We provide pre-circumcision checks, counselling and referrals to circumcision facilities.
