Premier Winde knows how to ‘Get to Work’
In his State of the Province speech this morning, Alan Winde, the Premier of the Western Cape reminded residents that in 2019 he had committed to “Get to Work”. Having worked with the Premier over the past year, I am sure we can all agree that this is exactly what the Western Cape Government has been doing.

By working together, we have already recruited and deployed 500 additional Law Enforcement Officers in the City of Cape Town. This is the biggest single deployment of law enforcement officers and shows what can be achieved when different spheres of government work together.

Having served as the Western Cape Minister of Economic Opportunities, Premier Winde also understands the critical importance of job creation, and of creating the enabling environment in which jobs can be created. By working together, this City and Province saw 24 000 new jobs for the last quarter and as the Premier said in his speech this morning, this is more than half of the net jobs created in our country.

Premier Winde has my full support and I look forward to continue working with the Premier and his cabinet, putting the people of this City and Province first, and showing them that by working better together, we can deliver the best quality services in the country.

End
2020-02-19T22:00:00ZGP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#90b49a62-96e2-436a-9c68-187c9ab33534;L0|#090b49a62-96e2-436a-9c68-187c9ab33534|Mayor;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb1
