City update on water quality in Strandfontein
21 February 2020
While final water quality results are pending, residents are still advised to refrain from drinking tap water until further notice.
The City of Cape Town advises Strandfontein residents that we are still awaiting confirmation of the water quality in the area.
Initial water quality results have been received, but a second set of results is awaited so as to confirm the safety of the water for consumption.
The City will advise residents as soon as these results have been received.
In the interim, water trucks are circulating in the community to provide potable water to affected residents.
The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and requests that residents please bear with us while this matter is resolved.
City Health also advises Strandfontein residents, who may be experiencing any health complaints that could be related to having ingested tap water in the past 24 hours, to please report to their nearest health care provider for appropriate care.
