Arts and Culture Department<p>We market and develop Cape Town’s arts and culture in ways that celebrate the city’s rich diversity. We do this by promoting and celebrating the depth of our city’s heritage and offering financial and infrastructural support and skills development to the creative and cultural industries and our communities.</p><p>We draw on partnerships with various levels of government, academia and civil society, and foster an informed, inter-connected and self-reliant arts and culture sector. We achieve this through a range of programmes aimed at building culture and public life, community cultural development and promoting cultural events, places and people.</p><span><ul class="lrg-icon-content"><li class="lrg-icon lrg-link"><div class="list-links"> <a title="title" href="http://www.capetown.gov.za/local%20and%20communities/creative-community/public-and-community-art/creatively-collaborate-with-the-city">Creatively collaborate with the City</a><a title="title" href="http://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Arts%2c%20Culture%20and%20Creative%20Industries%20Policy%20-%20%28Policy%20number%2029892%29%20approved%20on%2003%20December%202014.pdf" target="_blank">Read our Arts, Culture and Creative Industries Policy</a><a title="title" href="http://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Apply/Licences-and-permits/Public-art/Apply-for-a-public-art-permit/Apply%20for%20a%20public%20art%20permit">Apply for a public art permit</a><a title="title" href="http://www.capetown.gov.za/Explore%20and%20enjoy/Arts-and-culture/Find-art-in-the-city/Find-public-art">Find public art </a></div></li></ul></span> <span> <blockquote cite="http://wwww.cite.co.za"><p> <em>"The ability to create opportunities to unlock the associated benefits of arts, culture, creative industries and heritage in ever-increasingly complex city ecosystems is non-negotiable.
