Apply for property marketing agent permit re-registration
Property marketing agent permit stickers are valid for a period of one year (from 1 July - 30 June) after which they must be renewed. You can apply for a renewal by following the process below.
How to apply
This process applies to all principal agents, agents, intern agents and auctioneers.
Step 1: Download and fill out the ‘Property Marketing Agent Permit Renewal and Annual Re-registration Application Form’ in the document downloads section below.
Attach the following to your application:
- A copy of your current Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC). If you do not have a current copy, then attach a copy of the previous year’s FCC along with proof that you have applied for a new one;
- A certified copy of your ID;
- In the case of an intern, the FFC and ID of the principal agent under whom they are operating must be provided; and
- Your municipal business partner (BP) number – which can be found on your personal municipal rates invoice. If you do not have a business partner number, you will need to provide proof of address in order to have a BP number issued to you.
Step 2: Submit your completed application at your nearest municipal office (see below).
You will also be requested to pay the re-registration fee which is based on the Environmental and Heritage Management tariffs and charges (see the document downloads section below).
Step 3: If your application is successful, you will be issued with six new permit stickers which you can place on your directional boards.
Payment
We accept the following methods of payment:

Cash, debit and/or credit card: We will cover the bank cost on a cash, debit and/or credit card payment on an amount above R7000 per transaction. We absorb such costs in respect of single payments of R7000 and below.

Direct deposit at any Nedbank branch: Insert your payment reference number on your deposit slip

Electronic payments (EFT): Select the City of Cape Town as a bank listed beneficiary on your bank's website. Use your 9 - digit reference number in the beneficiary account number/ payment reference field.
