<h2 class="sectHeading">Planning your event </h2></span>
<p> When planning to host an event in the City it is important to find out whether you:</p><ul><li>require a permit;</li><li>need city support;</li><li>understand how to apply for a permit and/or support;</li><li>are aware of all existing policies, management procedures and legislation relevant to event organisers; and</li><li>understand how to host your event efficiently with minimal impact on citizens/environment.</li></ul>

<h2 class="sectHeading">Apply for a permit</h2></span>
<p>The Event Permits Office is a one-stop shop that facilitates all the necessary permissions to host your event. The requirements and permitting process for all events are outlined in the
<a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Events%20By-law.pdf" target="_blank"> Events By-law</a><strong> </strong>which can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. We recommend you read carefully through the by-law before you make your application.</p>

<p>Once your application is received, it is sent to the various service departments in the City for comments and approvals, and only once all the conditions are met, is an event permit issued. Learn more about the process by following the City Connect link below. </p>

<h2 class="sectHeading">Funding support for events</h2><p>The City wishes to support event organisers and has established a special events committee to review all applications for event funding. <h2 class="sectHeading">Your event permit </h2></span>
<p>Once your plan is approved and the permit is issued, you have to ensure the event fully complies with our requirements. If these are in question at any stage, the City may request an event organiser to immediately provide proof of compliance. </p><h4> Failure to do so will result in one or more of the following:</h4><ul><li>The issue of a notice of non-compliance</li><li>A fine</li><li>Halting or cancelling the event, either prior-to or during the event</li></ul>
