About the Cape Town CBD LSDF

The LSDF includes the development guidelines, based on a detailed understanding of contextual opportunities and constraints.

The CBD LSDF aims to:

• facilitate transition planning that will ensure the CBD’s economic success
• protect and maintain existing investments, while creating new opportunities to transform the area into a more liveable, inclusive and resilient space
• support economic recovery improve accessibility, and
• address future challenges.

It focuses on:

• enhancing precinct/character area development,
• boosting mixed-use development,
• providing residential opportunities across the affordability categories, and
• improving public spaces and infrastructure.
