Apply for sanitation charge adjustment
Your sanitation charges are based on how much water you use and are calculated according to a percentage based on the type of property concerned. However, in special cases, the City may approve a different percentage rate at which sanitation is charged. If you would like to apply for an adjustment in percentage sanitation volumetric charge, you can follow the process outlined below.

Please note
This adjustment is not applicable to the Domestic Full Tariff category (single residential properties) and a percentage rate lower than that for the tariff category will not be approved.
Step 1: Download and complete the Adjustment Of Sanitation Volumetric Charge Application Form from the document downloads section below. Please ensure that your application fully completed and includes a motivation.
Step 2: Submit your completed form and the attached documents to your nearest Walk-in Centre or email your application to accounts@capetown.gov.za. You will be contacted once your application has been reviewed.
