<h2 class="sectHeading">Types of applications</h2>
<p>If you would like to extend your liquor trading hours, you will need to follow the required application process to ensure that the community’s needs and those of the liquor licence holder are considered. There are three types of applications:</p>
<ul><li>Application to extend liquor trading hours for on-consumption premises (02:00 to 04:00) </li><li>Application to extend trading hours for off-consumption premises (Monday to Saturday, 18:00 to 20:00)</li><li>Sunday trading for off-consumption premises (11:00 to 18:00) </li></ul>

<h2 class="sectHeading">How to apply </h2></span>
<p>Before you get started, you will need to download the correct form for your specific application from the document downloads or collect them any of the City’s
<a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Forms%2c%20notices%2c%20tariffs%20and%20lists/LIST_ENVIRONMENTAL_HEALTH_OFFICES.pdf" target="_blank">Environmental Health Offices</a>.</p>

<strong>Step 1:</strong> Complete the first page of the application form. The second page is for City use — please consult the Extended Liquor Trading Hours Guidelines at the bottom of the page for more information on City approvals you will need before you proceed with the payment of the application fee</p>
<p>
<strong>Step 2:</strong> You will need to pay an application fee. Please consult the Health Rates and Tariffs in the document downloads section below for more information. You can do the payment at any of the City cash offices or you can do an EFT. Please ensure you request a receipt when paying at the cash office or retain proof of payment when doing an EFT</p>
<p>
<strong>Step 3:</strong> Once completed, please deliver the form, supporting documentation and the receipt of payment of the fee to the
<a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Forms%2c%20notices%2c%20tariffs%20and%20lists/LIST_ENVIRONMENTAL_HEALTH_OFFICES.pdf" target="_blank">City’s Environmental Health Office</a> closest to you. The application will serve before the specific subcouncil, and you will be notified in writing of the decision. In the case of a refusal, you do have the
<a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Claim-or-dispute/Appeal-a-decision/Lodge-an-appeal">right to appeal</a>.</p>

<h2 class="sectHeading">Payment</h2></span>
<p>We accept the following methods of payment:</p>
<ul><li>
<strong>Cash, debit and/or credit card:</strong><strong> </strong>We will cover the bank cost on a cash, debit and/or credit card payment on an amount above R7000 per transaction. We absorb such costs in respect of single payments of R7000 and below.</li><li>
<strong>Direct deposit:</strong><strong> </strong>Insert your payment reference number on your deposit slip</li><li>
<strong>Electronic payments (EFT):</strong> Select the City of Cape Town as a bank listed beneficiary on your bank's website. Use your 9 - digit reference number in the beneficiary account number/ payment reference field.</li></ul>
