Zeekoevlei waterbody closed to the public

Zeekoevlei waterbody temporarily closed.The waterbody at the Zeekoevlei section is temporarily closed for public recreational use as a precautionary measure after a sewage spill earlier today, 17 September 2020.
We are monitoring the water quality and will conduct water sampling tests to determine the levels of E.coli. In the meantime, residents and stakeholders are advised to please avoid contact with the water until further notice.
Continued water sampling will take place and we will keep the public informed.
The City apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the closure of the waterbody and thank the public for their cooperation during this period.
