#YouthStartCT winners take the cake

The winners of the seventh instalment of the City of Cape Town’s annual #YouthStartCT Entrepreneurial Challenge were announced last night.

- Access to capital, equipment/tools and space (many work from home)
- Limited experience and mentorship/guidance
- Limited confidence and contacts to promote their business
- 1st prize: R50 000 branding and printing services
- 2nd prize: R30 000 branding and printing services
- 3rd prize: R20 000 branding and printing services
- 4th – 11th prize: R10 000 branding and printing services
- daily access to the hot desk area
- fast uncapped Wi-Fi
- one hour meeting room use per week
- 50 prints per month
- Training services to the entrepreneurs to equip them going forward with their businesses
- Business Assessments to ascertain the needs of the businesses
- Business Advisory services
- Up to 90% subsidised interventions to the entrepreneurs
- This includes learning; coaching; market linkages and access to the mini factories/maker space.
- This is conservatively valued at R80 000 per person.
- Accounting services to winners
- The top three winners will receive a 12-month accounting and compliance subscription with LBH Chartered Accountants. Including monthly bookkeeping services, tax and other compliance submissions, as well as drafting of the 2021/22 annual financial statements of the business.
