Way forward regarding meetings of Council

The City will utilise the advanced technology of virtual meetings in all its sub-council and portfolio committee meetings.
Virtual meetings have become an efficient way of conducting meetings of Council.
Online meetings are also more cost-effective when compared to the physical, in-person meetings previously held. Other advantages include orderliness and efficient expression of views via the chat and participation options.
The City will ensure that the budget meeting of a budget exceeding R50 billion will be available to members of the public, business chambers and the media.
‘I would like to thank the Speaker, and all city officials for putting the measures in place to ensure that Council can go ahead during these challenging times,’ said Alderman Dan Plato, the Executive Mayor of Cape Town.
