Urgently reduce water usage: Mowbray, Rondebosch, Rosebank, Newlands, Claremont, Kenilworth and Wynberg and also Kuils River and Zevenwacht

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be doing urgent repairs to its 810mm diameter pipeline to the Newlands Reservoir from 08:00 on Friday, 10 March 2023 until 08:00 on Sunday, 12 March 2023 as well as to its 1525mm diameter pipeline along Langverwacht Road in Zevenzicht from 18:00 on Friday, 10 March 2023 until 06:00 on Sunday, 12 March 2023.Residents in the Mowbray, Rondebosch, Rosebank, Newlands, Claremont, Kenilworth and Wynberg areas may experience lower than usual water pressure during this time and are kindly requested to reduce their water consumption during the repair period of the Newlands pipeline.
Residents in the Kuils River and Zevenwacht areas are kindly requested to significantly reduce their water consumption during the repair period of the Langverwacht Road pipeline. This will ensure that the water supply from the reservoir is sustained throughout the repairs. Residents may also store water upfront in clean sealed containers for domestic use.
The City will be monitoring the water supply to these areas and the reservoir levels closely.
Every effort will be made to complete the repairs in the shortest possible timeframe.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused but it is imperative that it maintain its water supply infrastructure network to benefit its consumers.
