Road Resurfacing project underway in Royal Cape, Ottery

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises the public of the roadworks along Connemara Road, Mourne Road, Torrens Road, Wicklow Road, Londonderry Road, Drogheda Road, Armagh Road and Ottery Station Road in the Ottery area. The work has commenced this week and is planned to take place until mid-September. Read more below

Working hours will be from 07:30 until 17:00 from Monday to Friday, weather permitting. Some work will be done between 08:00 and 13:00 on Saturdays.

‘Residents and business owners in the Ottery area can expect some noise while these roadworks are under way. Our teams will try their best to get the resurfacing done as efficiently as possible. We would like to thank road users for their patience with these works, which will improve the road network and keep Cape Town moving along fresh new roads in their neighbourhoods,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The work includes the resurfacing of the affected roads, as well as the construction of new catch pits; manholes; kerbing and channelling.

The work is scheduled along the following roads:

• Connemara Road between Mourne Road and Torrens Road

• Mourne Road between Ottery Road Service and Connemara Road

• Torrens Road between Ottery Road and Wicklow Road

• Wicklow Road between Torrens Road and Londonderry Road

• Drogheda Road between Wicklow Road and Ottery Road Service

• Armagh Road between Londonderry Road and Torrens Road

• Ottery Station Road between Londonderry Road and the end of Station Road

• Londonderry Road between Station Road and Londonderry Road
