Road resurfacing of Brighton Road in Kraaifontein

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise members of the public in the Kraaifontein area of roadworks along Brighton Road between Okavango Road and Lunar Road. The resurfacing and rehabilitation work is planned to take place from today, 8 November 2023, until Wednesday, 15 November 2023, provided there are no unforeseen delays. Work will be done between 21:00 and 04:00 on weekday nights, with a possibility of work being carried over into the weekend.

The resurfacing of this section of Brighton Road entails the repairing of damaged manholes and selected kerbs and channels. The existing surface will be removed and replaced with a new asphalt surface.

All road markings removed will be reinstated.

‘To limit traffic disruptions, we will be doing this work during the night and ask that motorists please lower their speeds, pay attention to road signs and be vigilant. We plan to complete this job over the next seven days and thank you for your patience during this period,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
