Resurfacing of various roads in Capri Village, Masiphumelele and Ocean View

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate wants to advise road users and businesses of roadworks in Capri Village, Masiphumelele and Ocean View

The road resurfacing work will be done in Capri Village:

  • Capri Drive

     

In Masiphumelele, the following roads:

  • Pokela Road, Sobukwe Road, Ntantiso Road and Ntantala Road.

 

In Ocean View, the following roads:

  • Alcor Road, Comet Road, Callisto Way and Carnation Road.

 

The Scope of the work entails:

  • Repairing and realigning damaged kerbs and channels.
  • Repairing base and surface patches.
  • Milling the existing road surface and inlay it with a new asphalt layer.

Damaged storm water kerbs and channels are also set to be repaired and realigned during the course of this work.

 

Road users are asked to adhere to the Traffic Accommodation Signage and posted speed limit in these specified areas. Upon completion,

all the road-markings that existed before the resurfacing work will be reinstated.

 

'I want to thank you for your cooperation and patience while this work is under way in Capri Village, Masiphumelele and in Ocean View. I do advise motorists to please consider using alternative routes as traffic will be affected. The resurfacing of these roads is a long-term investment in prolonging the lifespan of these important roads. All road users, in particular local businesses and residents, will benefit from the maintenance,' the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
