The scope of the work is as follows:

• Installation of sections of kerb, channel and footway repairs
• Reconstruction of the base layers with cold in-situ recycled material
• Removing the existing surface and replacing with hot-mix asphalt
• Reinstatement of the traffic light at the intersections
• Reinstating road markings

The resurfacing work will take place during normal day time working hours and that stop and go as well as detour traffic accommodation methods will be utilised. All lanes are scheduled to be reopened to traffic by 15:30 on weekdays, and 18:00 over the weekend, if there are no unforeseen delays.

'Residents and commuters who make use of this stretch of road are advised that the traffic traveling in both directions of Uys Krige Drive will be affected as work is scheduled to take place on both carriageways. Residents and businesses that are on this stretch will still have access to their premises. We would like to thank you for your patience over the next few weeks,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
