Resurfacing of roads in Table View

16 October 2023

Road users in Table View are requested to use alternative routes during this period

The roadworks on Circle Road, Chestnut Street, Merlot Avenue and Redwood Road in Table View will start on Monday, 16 October 2023, and continue until Thursday, 3 November 2023.

The roadworks will take place from 07:30 to 17:30, on weekdays only.

The resurfacing measures include milling out selected patches and replacing it with bitumen treated base. The identified roads will be milled to a depth and replaced with medium asphalt and existing road markings will be reinstated to its original position.

'Road users in Table View are requested to use alternative routes during this period. The safety and convenience of commuters are of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that courtesy is always extended to the public. This project is part of the scheduled road maintenance resurfacing programme. Performing regular maintenance on the current road infrastructure is vital to guarantee the durability and prolonged functionality of the existing road network,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Traffic moving in both directions will be affected, however, work areas will be demarcated to regulate the traffic flow and all intersections will remain open during construction.

The City of Cape Town's Urban Mobility directorate would like to thank road users for their patience in this infrastructure-led project to improve the road network.
