​‘The City would like to thank all affected residents and businesses for their patience during the course of these roadworks. This resurfacing project will be suspended over the festive break, from Friday, 13 December 2024 until Monday, 13 January 2025. The regular maintenance of roads prolongs the longevity of the City’s road network and ensures that we can keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The details of the road rehabilitation work includes:

• The removal of the existing road surface and resurfacing
• The removal and relaying of existing concrete kerbs and channels
• The application of road markings and other ancillary works such as raising manholes
• The reinstatement of damaged guardrails
Traffic moving in both directions will be affected and flag personnel will direct traffic through temporary detours around the work area. Work areas will be demarcated to regulate traffic flow.
