Resurfacing of roads in Retreat

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise the public of roadworks along Retreat Road, 1st Avenue and 8th Avenue in Retreat. The work started earlier today, Monday, 5 August 2024, from 09:00 to 15:30, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting. There is a possibility of night work between 19:30 and 05:30 from Monday to Saturday. The project will be concluded by the end of August, if all goes as planned.

The work includes the resurfacing of Retreat Road, and the section to be resurfaced starts at the intersection with 1st Avenue and ends at the circle, which is the intersection of 8th Avenue and Retreat Road.

‘This work will also include the resurfacing of existing bays and the reinstatement of missing kerbs. Additionally, our team will also repaint all affected road markings in this area and we ask that residents and road users please adhere to the temporary road signs at the site. Once done, all road users and residents will benefit from the improvements,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
