Resurfacing of Roads in Kenwyn, Lansdowne
17 July 2023
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises road users of roadworks along various roads in Kenwyn.
The work entails milling approximately 30-40 mm of the roadway, repaving the street with new asphalt, replacing selected damaged manholes, catchpits, frames and chambers on the following roads and streets:
- Range Road between Rockford Road and Wetton Servitude Road
- Holderness Road between Newent Street and Range Road
- Newent Street between Benghazi Road and Maybury Road
- Drift Road between Chukker Road and House Number 20 Drift Road
- Wetton Servitude Road between Range Road and House Number 75 Wetton Servitude Road
- El Adem Road between Wetton Servitude Road and Benghazi Road
- Ludgate Road between Wetton Servitude Road and Maybury Road
- Sunlands Avenue between Ludgate Road and Range Road
- Rockford Road between Brockhurst Road and Range Road
- Waterloo Road between Drift Road and House Number 75 Waterloo Road

Chukker Road and Racecourse Road will further undergo new lane markings.
Traffic moving in both directions will be affected and congestion is expected. Stop-and-Go measures will be utilised to facilitate traffic flow. It is recommended that road users consider alternative routes.
'We urge those who will be making use of these roads to please exercise patience and pay attention to the road signs. Our aim in doing this resurfacing work is to improve the road safety conditions, the quality of your commute and decrease vehicle user costs,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
