Roads will be closed between 07:30 and 15:00 daily from Mondays to Fridays with a Stop/Go system as well as detour traffic accommodation methods to be used to regulate traffic around the work area. Due to general high congestion levels in the afternoons and over weekends, no work is scheduled over weekends and all roads will be opened after 15:30.

This resurfacing forms part of the recommended treatment as per the City’s Pavement Management System. Regular maintenance prolongs the longevity of the City’s road network. The benefit of resurfacing roads includes improved road safety conditions and riding quality as well as decreased vehicle user costs.

‘We would like to thank Hanover Park residents and road users for their patience during the course of this work. Congestion is expected and we recommend that motorists be cautious while work is under way and also factor in longer travel time or consider alternative routes,’ said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
