Resurfacing along Victoria Road in Camps Bay to commence

5 October 2026

Roadworks along Victoria Road in Camps Bay between Geneva Drive and Kloof Road

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise residents and all road users of roadworks along Victoria Road in Camps Bay between Geneva Drive and Kloof Road. The work is planned to start this week, by 9 October 2026, if all goes according to plan. The project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2026.

‘Road users can expect temporary shoulder closures to be implemented for the first two weeks, between 08:00 and 18:00 from Monday to Saturday. Night work can then be expected thereafter, between 20:00 and 05:30 from Monday to Saturday until the project is completed. We will implement temporary lane closures along Victoria Road during these periods to facilitate these works, so temporary traffic disruptions and possible delays, particularly during this night-time construction, can be expected. This work forms part of the City’s ongoing road maintenance programme to provide a smoother and safer travelling surface for residents, as part of how we keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Work will be undertaken one lane at a time to accommodate traffic through the construction area and will include the relaying of sections of kerbs and channels, repairs to sections of sidewalk as well as the replacement of damaged road layers and resurfacing of the roadway.

The City regrets any inconvenience caused by the roadworks and thanks residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation while this essential maintenance is under way.
