Resurfacing along Belrail Road in Bellville
7 October 2024
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise the public about the resurfacing of Belrail Road between Robert Sobukwe Road and Charl Malan Street in Bellville. The roadworks are under way between 18:00 and 06:00 from Sundays to Fridays and scheduled to end on Friday, 18 October 2024, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays.
The work includes:
- The raising of manholes
- The removal of existing surfacing and resurfacing of the road
- The removal and relaying of certain concrete kerbs and channels
The current road markings will be reinstated.
‘I want to thank residents, road users and businesses along this stretch of road for their patience while we are doing this important maintenance work. The areas where evening work takes place will be closed during construction times. We will, however, ensure that the road is open for traffic during the day. The roadworks are to prolong the longevity of the City’s road network so that we can keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
