Residents invited to information day about repair timeline for Kloof Road
14 November 2024
I encourage residents and stakeholders to set aside some time to attend the information day where they can find the latest updates about the planned repair workKloof Road is one of the access routes that links the City Bowl with the Atlantic Seaboard suburbs of Camps Bay, Clifton, Bantry Bay and Sea Point.
The section between Kloof Nek Road and Round House Road has been closed to traffic since the long weekend of 24 September 2023 in the interest of public safety after the embankment supporting Kloof Road was destabilised, making it unsafe to carry a load. Unfortunately, further damage occurred this past winter when heavy rainfall caused an additional slip failure.
Join us at the public information day for a detailed update on the timeframes and other useful information:
• Date: Thursday, 21 November 2024
• Time: 15:00 to 19:00
• Venue: Camps Bay Preparatory School Campus, The Drive Avenue, Camps Bay
‘I encourage residents and stakeholders to set aside some time to attend the information day where they can find the latest updates about the planned repair work. Details about the damage, the challenges posed by the road’s unique location, what we have done to date, and the provisional timeframes will be on display. This is also the ideal opportunity to engage with the City’s project managers,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
