Repair of the Marine Drive link bridge over FW de Klerk Boulevard

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise road users and the public of the repair work to the Marine Drive link bridge over FW De Klerk Boulevard in WoodstockThe scope of the work includes the resurfacing of affected roads and the servicing of the bridge at Marine Drive. The work requires partial road closures at the off-ramp.
The partial road closure on FW De Klerk on the inbound and outbound lanes will be in place for the full duration of the project.
The scope of the work entails:
- The reinstatement of bridge plugs
- Bridge parapets to be cleaned and coated with a protective coating
- Concrete elements of the bridge to be repaired
'Road users are advised to please consider alternative routes during the course of these enhancements. Residents in the surrounding area are advised to anticipate a level of noise and dust pollution during this time. Every effort will be made to complete the project within the scheduled timeframe, and I want to thank all in advance for their patience while this important work is under way,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
