Monday morning commute running smoothly

2 November 2026

STATEMENT BY COUNCILLOR ROB QUINTAS, MAYORAL COMMITTEE MEMBER FOR URBAN MOBILITY

Residents can be assured that all public transport operations have been under way for the Monday morning commute this morning.

As of early Monday morning, ranks and stations across the City have been operating normally.

Those relying on minibus taxis and other forms of public transport are making their journeys to their places of education, work and other destinations.

SAPS, City and provincial safety services are continuing their high visibility and surveillance operations of various routes, ranks and stations.

I look forward to the scheduled engagement with Santaco, Cata and Codeta later this morning.

A stable and peaceful transport system where commuters, operators and public transport drivers feel safe keeps Cape Town moving.
