Mayoral Fund lends its hand to Durbanville Children’s Home

The Durbanville Children’s Home, benefitted from a R150 000 donation from the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Fund‘We extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Cape Town for their generous donation of R150 000 towards Durbanville Children's Home. We are truly grateful, as this funding will go a long way in helping us provide for the basic needs of the children in our care. We deeply appreciate the City’s continued support of our mission and vision to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. This support empowers us to bring hope, stability and opportunity to vulnerable children in our community,’ said the manager of Durbanville Children’s Home, Johanna Strauss.

The City receives regular requests for relief, charity and other forms of financial assistance which are dealt with under the Section 67 Grants-in-Aid Policy. The Mayoral Fund is also a limited source of charitable funding outlined in the City’s Relief and Charitable Allocations Policy.
