The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation department has replaced damaged fire hydrant infrastructure along Hyde and Acacia roads in Parkwood (Ward 66) after receiving complaints of water leakage from local residents. Repair work was conducted by a maintenance crew (pictured inset) between 17 and 20 December 2015 and all water leakage has been stemmed.
Cllr William Akim thanked the community for reporting the problem and helping the City to conserve water. As a follow-up to the maintenance work, the councillor distributed water saving pamphlets to the surrounding residences.
In the event of water leakage, residents can contact the City’s Call Centre toll-free on 0860 103 089 to report a problem.
