Malibu Street Park in Oak Glen (Ward 3) has recently undergone a revamp thanks to a joint initiative between the City of Cape Town’s Parks Department and local community residents.
The City recently installed public lighting to improve safety at the park and members from the Old Oak Forum volunteered their services to repaint the play park equipment and park furniture. Residents from the surrounding area also volunteered to maintain the park and ensure that none of the equipment or lighting is vandalised.
‘I am delighted at the improvement to the park, which serves as a recreational asset to the area. My thanks go to the Parks Department for improving public safety and to the dedicated residents who have volunteered their time and effort to ensure that the park remains well kept for all to use,’ said Cllr Brendan Van Der Merwe.
