On Thursday, 24 March 2016 a donation of wheelchairs was presented to recipients from The Leagues in Mitchells Plain. This follows on from requests by residents with mobility challenges who approached Cllr Natalie Bent for assistance. Cllr Bent put forward their request to the Mayor’s Office who approved the donation of four wheelchairs.

The wheelchairs were presented to the recipients at a ceremony held at the community hall in The Leagues. The recipients were Nigel Williams, John Keya, Nomzi Ndongeni and Brigette Oliver. The residents were grateful to receive the donation, and thanked Cllr Bent and the Mayor for responding to their request. 

The recipients are now able to get about with much greater ease and the donation has greatly improved their quality of life.
