Democracy Way closed at the intersection with Bosmansdam Road in Sanddrift
24 August 2018
Residents will be able to access Democracy Way via Platinum Crescent while the roadworks are ongoing. Platinum Crescent leads off Bosmansdam Road when travelling west towards Koeberg Road.
The area that will be most affected is the intersection of Democracy Way and Bosmansdam Road, opposite the Sable Square shopping centre. Work is scheduled to be implemented on the following Saturdays:
- 25 August 2018
- 1 September 2018
- 8 September 2018
Traffic will be accommodated by means of adequate, clear signage, as well as well-positioned flagmen.
The purpose of this project is to remove the existing roadway in order to install a new subsurface of layerworks and stormwater infrastructure for the proposed widening of Bosmansdam Road.
‘Roadworks always come with a level of inconvenience. However, once completed, the improvements hold many benefits for all road users, key among which are saving on travelling time and improved safety. We have scheduled the work for Saturdays when we expect the impact on traffic to be less disruptive than on weekdays. I urge motorists to please bear with us during this time, and to make use alternative routes where possible,’ said Councillor Suzette Little, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Area North.
