Drilling works will be carried out in the Silvermine Wetland from 29 November 2024 until 13 December 2024 and from 20 January 2025 to 28 February 2025 to reroute electrical cables and secure the electrical supply in Clovelly, Sun Valley, Fish Hoek, Kommetjie and surrounding areas. Drilling works will be carried out during weekdays from 08:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 18:00 only and will not take place on Sundays or public holidays.

The City had previously communicated that the work would only be carried out during working hours, but the contractor has since extended the work period to ensure sufficient progress is made by mid-December. Residents are notified of possible noise that may be experienced during this period. It is important to note that residents will have electricity supply while the work is being carried out.
