Construction of a new interchange between the R300 freeway and Bottelary Road in Kuilsrivier has begun in January 2016. Work will include the building of on- and off-ramps with a new bridge constructed over the Kuils River, as well as two new signalised intersections with turning lanes installed on Bottelary Road.
While construction is underway, traffic will be accommodated on the existing dual carriageway on Bottelary Road. The closure of a single lane will be necessary when work is carried out between the La Belle and Amandel Road intersections. Traffic on the R300 will not be affected and the shoulders outside the yellow line will be closed off with concrete barriers to ensure the safety of construction workers. It is anticipated that the road works will be completed early in 2017.
Transport for Cape Town, the City’s transport authority, thanks the public for their patience and appeals for caution to be exercised while the construction is underway.
