City to resurface various residential roads in Table View

27 October 2020

The City of Cape Town’s Transport Directorate will commence with the resurfacing of various residential roads in Table View

Work will be implemented in the following roads and streets:

  • South and Keats Roads intersection
  • Study Street between South and Blaauwberg Roads
  • Merlot Avenue between Janssens and Sultana Roads
  • Grey Avenue and Alphen Road between Briza Road and Meerlust Street
  • Claret Street
  • Madeira Crescent
  • Sherry Way including Sherry Close
  • Delheim Road
  • Bellingham Road

Maintenance work will take place between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Saturday.

Traffic moving in both directions will be affected and flag personnel will regulate traffic by means of a stop-and-go system, one direction at a time.

Work areas will be demarcated to regulate traffic flow as well as pedestrians. Residents will be able to park their vehicles in driveways as usual, if and when access is available.

‘We are committed to delivering basic services that will improve the lives of our residents. Thus, we appeal to all to please support us during the construction period by complying with the contractor’s signage and ensuring that their vehicles are parked in the demarcated areas to avoid obstructing the maintenance work,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Alderman Felicity Purchase.

Although we do not anticipate congestion, we recommend that road users consider alternative routes to avoid delays.

‘We thank residents for their patience. Ultimately, when the work is done, our residents will reap the benefits that come with well-maintained roads,’ said Alderman Purchase.
