City proposes changes to MyCiTi 214 route and new stops in Rivergate, Parklands

27 February 2025

The proposed changes are designed to provide a more direct service with reduced travel times for passengers

The proposed changes involve Routes 214a and 214e being re-aligned to operate in both directions along Dartford Drive and Walworth Road in Rivergate, Parklands. As a result, commuters are to please note that both routes will no longer serve the Morningfield and Dartford stops on Parklands Main Road. Passengers who make use of the Morningfield and Dartford stops will now have more options, including other 214 route variations and the D05 route.

The proposed new route requires five new stops along the way, which include:

  • Three new partner stops for the existing Walworth, Southwark and Lewisham stops on Dartford Drive and Walworth Road.
  • A set of two new stops on Station Road to cater for passengers currently using the Morningfield stop. (Passengers using Dartford can still access the Parklands Main North stop, which is a short walk away).

For precise locations of the proposed stops, please visit: www.myciti.org.za/ppp/tv-02-25

‘As always, we will first introduce temporary stops in order to test demand and confirm the suitability of the identified location, in line with our commitment to finding the most convenient routes and travel solutions for our passengers. For that reason, it is so important that residents please submit written comments or objections regarding the proposal before 28 March 2025,’ said Quintas.

Comments can be submitted via the following channels:

The City’s Public Participation Unit will assist those who cannot read or write, those who live with disabilities or who are from disadvantaged groups and are unable to submit written comments. These residents can call Andre Louw on 021 400 9809 or Andre.Louw@capetown.gov.za .

All objections will be considered before a final decision is reached.
