​The City of Cape Town’s inaugural council meeting for the new term of office will be held on Thursday 11 August 2016 at 10:00. At the meeting, the newly constituted Council will elect the Executive Mayor, the Executive Deputy Mayor and the Speaker of the House.

Members of the media who would like to attend the meeting must please pick up their accreditation from Jan Kruger between 12:00 and 14:00 on Wednesday 10 August 2016 at the main entrance of the Podium Block on the Concourse Level of the Civic Centre in Hertzog Boulevard.

Media collecting accreditation cards should be in possession of their media ID cards. 

Limited parking is available and journalists who would like to request parking need to submit the make and registration number of the vehicle the day before.
